Covid-19 impacting on our services - August 2022 update

Ostomy NSW is continuing to process orders and dispatch as per normal with our distribution team. Some of our dedicated staff and volunteers have tested positive for Covid in July, impacting our usual timeframes. This may result in an extra day or two for us to dispatch your appliances; we are still meeting our 8-10 day timeframe. Australia Post continue to pick up daily and their delivery to residential is currently 2-3 days from our dispatch. Last month on average 130 parcels were dispatched each day. We will keep you informed of any changes. Please continue to send enquiries to as our emails can be accessed remotely if there are future changes.

The Board of Directors are grateful for your support and your contribution keeps our association viable. If you are yet to renew your membership, please remember to pay your fees for prompt delivery of your August orders.

Stomal Therapy Nurse (STN) CLINIC has returned

Ostomy NSW is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Gavegan as our STN operating on a weekly basis. Lee has twenty-two years’ experience with stoma care and believes in the importance of a patient-centred approach to care. The clinic that Lee will be a virtual telehealth process, with consultations utilising mobile phone and video conference facilities. For this reason, Lee and her clinic is available for all of members to contact her for support and care.
At this stage there is no face-to-face clinic available at our temporary location.

The telehealth clinic will operate on Tuesdays from 9am to 3pm. Please call our office on (02) 9542 1300 to make an appointment, and Lee will contact you for a time to meet. The virtual clinic is offered to all of our members and we would appreciate a donation to Ostomy NSW to support the cost of providing this service. This service is especially recommended for members who are unable to see a local Stomal Therapy Nurse.

Postal Charges - effective October 2021

ONL needs to maintain its financial viability providing you with Government funded PBS stoma products. The commission paid by the Department of Health only covers 36% of the cost of picking and packing, and membership fees around 44%. The cost of postage and the cost of labour to handle each order has resulted in the charges below, effective from 1st October 2021.

Delivery timeframes

Please allow 8 to 10 working days for delivery on orders. (This includes delays due to COVID-19).

Pick-up not yet available

Your safety remains our top priority. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated restrictions, pick-up orders are not yet available. This is to ensure the safety of the ONL community and to protect our most vulnerable members, staff and volunteers. Postage and handling fee of $15 will be charged. Payments can be made by Debit Card, Credit Card, Direct Debit, Cheque or Money Order.

We have trialled Click To Boot and this has worked well for some of our members. If you wish to use this service, please nominate this on your order. We require an email address and mobile phone number and will send you details if your order is available using click to boot. This service has a $5 fee.

Medicare Number required with your online order

It is now compulsory to provide your current 11 digit Medicare number, to enable ONL to claim on your behalf.
The 11 digits are the 10 digit sequence on the top of your card; the 11th digit is alongside your name.
